100% Linen - Flaxen Gold Basket Weave is just as its name suggests a fabulously soft, cool, breathable linen fabric, woven in a classic basket weave with strong yet silken flax-hued linen yarns throughout the warp and weft. The combination of pleasing natural hue and rustic lightly textured weave is the perfect combination of practicality and style.

Properties:

Linen has been used for centuries because of its beneficial properties; cool and breathable, gets softer with washing & wear and linen is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains. Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage.

The characteristic slubs (once viewed as a fault) are now part of the aesthetic appeal of quality linen fabric. It is stable, soft and has the feel of a favourite linen garment with a pre-washed hand. This medium-weight fabric is closely woven with an almost half panama basket woven style and has excellent stability with a heavy drape quality. The reverse of the fabric is slightly less textured.

Garment Suggestions:

Flaxen Gold will form crisp details (with a little light interfacing), on collars, cuffs and waistbands. Used in quantity it will form soft and full feminine gathers, with a reassuring drape, plus neat pleats.
