ALL WOOL & WOOL BLEND FABRICS
Fabworks stocks woollen fabrics in varying weights, textures & weaves, from floating fine wool challis to fine worsted suitings, all the way through to heavyweight coatings and plaids that are ideal for winter outerwear and soft furnishings round the home.
Wool will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer, as it is naturally water repellent and also has some natural fire retardancy properties.
Wool is an excellent choice for outerwear and perfect for jackets, coats, coatigans, capes and ponchos. There are plenty more uses for wool, such as hats, caps, bags and cushions.
If you really don’t fancy getting out the sewing machine, it is so easy to make a lovely wool throw.
ALL WOVEN COTTON FABRICS
A sewing staple! Fabworks' fantastic range of cotton comes in all kinds of weights, colours & patterns.
Take your pick from pure cottons or cotton blends, in plains, stripes, checks, florals and other wonderful (woven & printed) designs. All with high thread counts that makes for a soft, high quality, hard-wearing, woven cotton staple fabric.
These cottons are long-standing favourites with all Fabworks customers and one of the first choices for novice seamsters and professionals alike.
Our wide selection of Shirting Cottons can be put to many different uses and are great for shirts, blouses, children’s clothing, scarves and pyjamas, or indeed most lightweight summer clothing.
Needless to say it’s great for pocket handkerchiefs but also works for soft furnishings around the home – pillow cases, appliqué cushions and café curtains. Or why not get creative and try a patchworking or a craft project?
