Fabworks Online Sample Service

Can I order samples?

Yes, samples are available at Fabworks Online. All samples are cut to order. Each sample is approximately 10cm x 10cm and will cost £1.00. There are a few exceptions, such as the Fabworks Exclusive Avoca Wool. Postage is free for all samples.

At the checkout select 'Sample Postage (Samples only)' for free delivery of your samples.

If you are ordering both samples and cut length fabrics then you must select 'Fabworks Express Next Day Delivery' option and we will include all samples with your other cut length fabrics.

Why do I have to pay for my samples?

All our samples are priced at £1.00 unless otherwise stated. These prices help to cover our staff time and postage costs. These prices are non-disputable. We'd love to offer free samples, but it is simply not an option.

Can I send my samples back?

We regret that we cannot accept returns or refund the cost of samples.

Why should I sample before buying?

Buying a sample is a good way of examining fabric. By ordering a sample you will be able to gauge the colour accurately, feel the texture and see how the fabric handles. This is advisable if you don't know whether a particular fabric is suitable for your project.

Why should I buy a sample rather than a metre length?

It's clear that a one metre length of fabric is a lot better value for money, no matter its price, compared to a 10cm x 10cm sample that costs £1.00. However, sampling is definitely advisable if you're trying to decide between different colours and weights of fabric.
If you know exactly what you want, buying one metre of fabric instead of a 10cm x 10cm sample will give you the opportunity to look at the drape and handle of the fabric, which can’t be done with a sample that is a fraction of the size. Also, sampling fabrics that have very large pattern repeats will allow you to see and appreciate the design properly if you purchase a one metre piece.
At Fabworks, we find that you'd be amazed at what you can do with one metre of fabric – so even if you do buy a full metre, we're sure it won't go to waste.
