Introducing The Herringbones:

This gorgeous woollen tweed is one of twelve exclusive fabrics that form the new Heart of Huddersfield Collection for 2022. Hot off the looms and manufactured by Fabworks, from yarn through to weaving and finishing this bespoke beauty has been made in Yorkshire mills by Yorkshire folk! The HoH 2022 collection features two different coloured warps. Six of the twelve herringbones feature a soft misty grey warp, that form the Mist Herringbones. (The other six feature a dark stormy grey warp and form the Storm Herringbones.)

Read our latest blog post here to get the inside scoop on these new Herringbone fabrics.

Colour:

The overall tone of Mallard Mayhem - Storm Herringbone is teal with smart undertones. The signature storm dark warp adds a confident style, deep and thought-provoking. Add the jewel colour of Mallard Mayhem to your A/W wardrobe with this divine wool herringbone. Team with the cool and calming hues of Yorkshire Lavender or Squirrels’ Drey with its rust tones for the perfect combination of bespoke separates for an individual style.

Mallard Mayhem was inspired by the birds that live on the rivers and canals of West Yorkshire - those handsome Mallard ducks! The iridescent green plumage on their heads and necks catches the light when they create a commotion.

The rich, deep green weft and the grounding storm grey warp bring to mind the teal pop of a Mallard dabbling in dark waterways. This perfect combination of yarns and weave produce a classic herringbone. This new 2022 herringbone tweed is a nostalgic reminder of our original Rain On The River collection, drawing its inspiration from the aquatic side of nature - the plants, the animals and the climate that we see over in the gentle streams and flowing rivers.

Beautiful Fabric

This is a really lovely fabric. I haven't used it yet (too near to Christmas!) but I plan to make a waistcoat in the new year. The quality is very good and i think it will be delightful to use. The colour is a little darker and greener than I was expecting, but it is still lovely. Ordering was easy and delivery was good.

Lovely fabric

This is a lovely, subtly coloured fabric that I plan to make a coat with. Ordering it couldn’t have been easier and the parcel arrived quickly.

Slight disappointment

When my fabric arrived (part of the birthday offer with free lining, etc) I was a little shocked that it was more green than teal, and I am wondering if I've been sent the wrong colour. Nevertheless, I will use it for a coat I am planning to make.

A joy to work with.

Is it just me, or do dark teals rarely come to the surface? This fabric is the color of my dreams, so I just had to have it. It's a hefty herringbone, perfect for the cooler seasons. It was a breeze to work with. This is the third jacket that I've made as a student at The Tailoring Academy, and I'm thrilled with the result. As a bonus I have enough fabric left over to make a waistcoat in the future. Thank you Fabworks!
