Fabworks stocks woollen fabrics in varying weights, textures & weaves, from floating fine wool challis to fine worsted suitings, all the way through to heavyweight coatings and plaids that are ideal for winter outerwear and soft furnishings round the home.

Wool will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer, as it is naturally water repellent and also has some natural fire retardancy properties.

Wool is an excellent choice for outerwear and perfect for jackets, coats, coatigans, capes and ponchos. There are plenty more uses for wool, such as hats, caps, bags and cushions.

If you really don’t fancy getting out the sewing machine, it is so easy to make a lovely wool throw.

A sewing staple! Fabworks' fantastic range of cotton comes in all kinds of weights, colours & patterns.

Take your pick from pure cottons or cotton blends, in plains, stripes, checks, florals and other wonderful (woven & printed) designs. All with high thread counts that makes for a soft, high quality, hard-wearing, woven cotton staple fabric.

These cottons are long-standing favourites with all Fabworks customers and one of the first choices for novice seamsters and professionals alike.

Scuba is a type of jersey, often featuring modern and photo-realistic designs that are printed onto the fabric, scuba is a modern addition to the fabric world. Do not mistake this fabric for neoprene.

Originally a niche high fashion fabric, scuba now caters to all styles, all ages, all tastes.

It is easy wear & easy care (that means quick drying & no ironing), extremely versatile, hard-wearing, strong, stretchy & comfortable. Samples & cut lengths available for all fabrics.

ALL JERSEY FABRICS

Jersey is a perennial favourite. Knitted, jersey is soft and comfortable to wear. It is designed primarily for clothing, with a good stretch and coming in many varieties; it's easy to see why jersey is so fashionable.

Fabworks has a wide selection of cotton, viscose, polyester & wool jerseys, as well as various blends too.

Lightweight jersey is a great choice for summer clothes like T-shirts, lightweight skirts and dresses, children’s clothing and pyjamas.

Heavier weight jerseys work well for dresses, skirts, sweatshirts, tunics, jumpers and such, most people choose them for their added strength and warmth. And a heavier weight material will also help to create a garment with more structure too!
