Introduction:

This ex-designer fabric oozes a classic British style thanks to its distinctive stripes. We are talking about the British iconic style of academic cities like Oxford and Cambridge and the town of Henley. Stripes of all kinds always look super smart and this silk blend fabric is up here with the best.

Colour:

Classic navy sets the scene for jaunty stripes of gold, red and racing green. This classic colour palette is perfectly displayed with the characteristic sheen of silk.

Properties:

Regatta Stripe is a lightweight fabric but by no means flimsyFaille fabrics feature a horizontal, lightly ribbed or gross grain, weave making them stable and strong. Also featuring a wonderfully soft and malleable drape quality that will form perfect pleats, gathers and tucks.

Garment Suggestions:

Regatta Stripe will of course make the most superb dressy blazers, but also consider neat waistcoats and chic dresses and skirts. Play with the stripes to create 'Viv Westwood' style bias cut, tuck and drape dresses. Alternatively, create super smart fit and flare dresses with pleated skirts, or simple box pleated skirts or team with a fresh white shirt for classic style.

Other Uses:

Regatta Stripe will make the smartest robes and kimono-style jackets. Vanessa Mooncie's- The Gentleman's Wardrobe has an excellent pattern with a super-smoking jacket style perfect for this fabric. Create matching accessories, clutch bags, scarves and cravats.
