Vertical striped accents woven in seriously stylish royal blue and lilac which combined with the grey and white appear barely there, a subtle detail of finesse.

 Properties:

A masterfully woven superfine, super soft (thanks to the fine combed 80s yarns), and a smooth, flat weave with 100% natural fibres, the characteristic quality sheen of the worsted yarns produces a fabric that highlights the soft drape quality with stylish flair.

Boasting a stable handle and excellent opacity without being heavy. The close weave produces a hardwearing finish that belies its fine silken sheen. These light and silken combed wool 80s yarns are sought after because of their finely crafted qualities. The number indicates the fineness of the yarn and how many times it has been twisted when spun - thus affecting the overall hand of the fabric. These woollen worsted fabrics are ideal for all temperatures regulated to the temperature of the wearer and are resilient to creases! What more could you want from a fabric with such admirable qualities? There is no wonder heritage Yorkshire worsteds are so sought after, and revered in such high esteem.

About These Fabrics

For those who appreciate the finer things in life, fine fibres, fine workmanship and classic colour combinations... Let us introduce you to this stunning fine worsted fabric.

Woven in Huddersfield, the textile heritage-steeped town of West Yorkshire. This fabric is authentic vintage suiting. Fabric doesn’t ‘go off’ and although we are not quite sure when this one was manufactured, it was certainly sometime in the last 30 years, and definitely not in the last ten. A collector’s item sourced from a renowned Huddersfield weaver that is no longer trading, who made some of the finest woollen fabrics the world has seen, trading from 1800s until relatively recently. We rescued this fabric that was located at the famous Black Dyke Mills. Huddersfield became renowned for its worsted manufacture, thanks to the likes of the company of John Foster who raised the bar in worsted production, sourcing the finest mohair and alpaca fibres (to blend with wool) resulting in a heritage of cloth making, winning prizes from kings and queens to top fashion designers (like Alexander Mc Queen) for almost 200 years!

This fabric is perfect for vintage and retro styles, whilst offering neutral colour palettes that will suit a variety of modern styles too. Fine worsteds such as these are the epitome of traditional British manufacturing and will always give a clean sharp look.
