Introduction:

This luxurious ex-designer dual-sided, heavy satin fabric is the epitome of luxurious occasion-wear/bridal satin boasting the added benefit of a super smart black on the reverse. Feel like royalty when wearing creations made from Platinum Tuxedo - Double Satin Royale.

Colour:

Platinum Tuxedo boasts a radiant and precious platinum hue on the face side and a classic solid black tone, on the reverse. Two classic tones for the price of one. Black and platinum are perfect for dramatic evening wear or to add alternate accents to bridal gowns and bridal apparel; mother-of-the-bride outfits and groomsmen/maids of honour colour-matched waistcoats. Black and platinum satins do look absolutely fabulous together, think of a perfect pairing like a black diamond set in precious platinum.

Properties:

Platinum Tuxedo is a heavy-weight bridal/occasion wear satin fabric that features a light texture within its lustrous sateen sheen on both sides. Clever weaving techniques produce heavyweight malleable, yet dense, extremely stable and low slip. The high concentration of fine, predominantly mercerised cotton, fibres used to create this stunner produces a high GSM.

This fabric may be a cotton blend but it has the look and feel of radiant silk. The dense quality allows for structured creations with fit and flare details, think classic '50s style fit and flare, peplums or contemporary boxy shoulders, '50s style skirts will form undulating folds with unrivalled quality when constructed in this impeccable fabric. Create dramatic creations where clever folding and draping produce art deco-style silhouettes thanks to the dual-sided contrast.

Garment Suggestions:

Platinum Tuxedo is, of course, the perfect fabric for semi-structured bridal wear, use this fabric to create fitted corset-style bodices and '60s style slim silhouettes. Blazer and trouser/skirt ensembles, mother-of-the-bride outfits and so much more. Create uber-dramatic creations worthy of red-carpet events,  look to any of the recent awards ceremonies for inspiration.

For Max Luxe style ideas look to designers like Victoria Beckham and Karen Millen and create your own version of a luxury trench coat. Wear this luxurious fabric creation with your jeans to add a touch of luxury to every day and wear it with an evening dress for classic drama. The dual sides offer interesting opportunities to create colour-blocked styles and unlined garments with satin-bound seams.

Other Uses:

Create matching accessories, chic purses, clutch bags etc. Boudoir-style Art Deco cushions and other decorative soft furnishings.
