Introduction:

The '80s and '90s fashions are certainly having a revival and this fun vertically striped, textured poly crepe fits the bill perfectly.

Colour:

A palette of jewel-like gems abounds in this excellent dressmaking fabric, stripes of soft pink Rhodonite, rich Carnelian orange, Rubelite wine, dreamy Chalcedony blue, Teal Spinel, and Apatite teal sit alongside Morrello black for the perfect combination.

Properties:

Gem Stripe boasts a wonderfully textured finish that's almost blister-like. This pleasing textured finish gives the fabric slight ease (length and width-wise). A beautifully fluid drape quality and resistance to creases make this fabric perfect for a multitude of loose and softly flowing styles.

Garment Suggestions:

Recreate all your favourite '70s, '80s and 90s styles- simple slip dresses, halter-neck dresses, asymmetrical 1-shoulder dresses and tops, strappy sun dresses such as Sew Different Fleetwood Frock or Reynolds Top and Dress by Helen's Closet

Dresses and tops with soft gathers such as The Megan Nielsen Patterns - Protea Capsule Wardrobe. Create simple summer dresses with elasticated shirred bodices and fun cropped/ Gypsy tops with puffed sleeves for a bohemian style.

Other Uses:

For simpler, chic styles, create long-line sleeveless shirts with deep side vents - wear over a simple white vest top and matching wide-legged easy make elasticated palazzo pants. Shorten for the smartest shorts and continue this theme- into playsuits and stylish jumpsuits.

There are so many other styles perfect for this easy-to-wear and easy-to-care-for fabric.
