Introduction:

Inkwell - Crepe Bouclé is a superb cotton and viscose blend fine bouclé type fabric. The yarn threads woven through the weft have an irregularity throughout their length and a built-in crinkle which create the fine bouclé effect, which has a very textured slubby feel.

Colour:

Inkwell is woven from a deep dark inky blue. It has a lustrous deep blue shade with a touch of violet to provide an interesting depth and texture when woven in this slubbed yarn.

Properties:

When held to the light, the open weave shows the irregularity of the bouclé yarn and gives the fabric a cool and airy feel. The drape and handle, however, is mediumweight and quite fluid. Inkwell is stable lengthways and widthways and has good bias stretch/movement, making it perfectly drapey.

Garment Suggestions:

If chic French couture-style fabrics are your thing, then we're sure you'll love Inkwell. The selvedge of this super fabric has a lovely finely fringed detail and it's perfect to use as a couture style trim alongside velvet ribbon or braid for around the closing edges of your jackets, plus pocket tops.

Structured garments will require lining and stabilisers due to the open weave and bias movement. A classic style jacket and dress or skirt ensemble is a style which will never date, we all have room in our wardrobe for one couture-style jacket at least. Fabulous teamed with your favourite jeans!

This fantastic fabric will make superb elegant drapey & dramatic unlined throw-on coatigans or dramatic wraps. Use this textured wonder for quirky "Lagen look" layered pieces such as tunics and oversized t-shirt styles - great for layering with chambray shirts & pants. Why not try a tulip-style pleated front skirt Inkwell will drape beautifully a lining would be recommended!
