Introduction:

Champagne is fabulous with its clever pre-pleated treatment. These versatile fabrics are perfect for creating instant glamour and what could be more glamourous than golden champagne itself?

Colour:

This excellent pale gold/champagne hue sits with other warm neutrals, such as tan, camel, beige and taupe or even soft pastel hues. Alternatively, use alongside fresh white for a light and classic palette.

Properties:

The fine even pleats run horizontally from selvedge to selvedge, this needs to be taken into consideration when cutting garments out. With good horizontal stretch width-wise along the pleats and slight vertical stretch across the pleats, this slinky fabric has a superb drape and lightweight handle.

Garment  Suggestions:

Create the most stylish artistic creations from this clever fabric. Look at the I Am Patterns - Cleopatre Dress & Top, this simple top has a stabilised yoke collar detail where the sleeveless body of the dress falls elegantly in its pleats. The use of a plain crepe will make the collar detail perfect.

Use Champagne to create maxi dresses and skirts, drapey wrap dresses, lined lightweight elastic waist skirts and draped tops with knot front details. Why not create a stunning pair of Palazzo pants and make full use of the pleats for a dramatic dressy look? Create matching scarves and silky stoles for a coordinating sophisticated look.
