Introduction:

Blueberry & Cranberry Check - Lambswool Flannel is suitable for a wide range of seriously smart or smart/casual clothing depending on the patterns and styles you choose to create and has a designer pedigree.

Originally made by Italian craftsmen for the same designer as our SOS Collection, it is equally stunning and perfect for cross-seasonal wear throughout the year - after all, wool is naturally temperature-regulating!

Colour:

Blueberry & Cranberry Check is a mouth-watering blueberry and cranberry hues that sit in perfect harmony within this delightfully versatile version of classic district-checked wool flannel. This Italian woven fabric has a combination of super soft lightly brushed yarns in denim blue, navy and rich cranberry red to produce a rich fruity and dark palette that is just sublime.

Properties:

Blueberry & Cranberry Check is stable both width and lengthwise, has a close weave and soft, cosy feel that's not itchy, plus a lovely soft drape quality too.

Garment Suggestions:

This delightful fabric will make the prettiest wool pinafore dresses for little girls and ladies too, simple pencil and mini skirts perfect for teaming with thick winter tights in navy or berry tones, throw on a chunky jumper and you have a feminine look that's cosy and smart. Team your simple skirts with matching bomber jackets and blouson jackets.

For something a little sharper; create classic wide-legged trousers The Pattern Stash - Cordelia Trousers and matching waistcoats Jemima Waistcoat for a confident feminine style. Dress this look down with classic Fair Isle jumpers and a pair of brogues. For full-on feminine glamour go the whole hog and create a matching blazer with a velvet collar and pocket flaps, classic cuts never date.

Dapper gents: this will make superb three-piece suits, you can wear each piece separately and tone down with your jeans and a blue shirt. Try combining your cosy flannel trousers with a chambray shirt and a cosy cranberry-hued cardigan, for a relaxed style.

Utilise the soft drape of this delightful wool flannel and create sweet smock-style coats for toddlers and little girls, and create matching hats, berets and caps too.

Lovely fabric for a Spring/Autumn jacket

I got a sample of this. It is a great quality fabric but not for the coat I want to make but it is ideal for a jacket.

Anyone who buys this fabric will not be disappointed

Why choose wool fabric?

Benefits of sewing with Wool! 🐑

We love wonderful wool! Why? Because it looks beautiful, well yes but did you know wool has a series of superpowers that make it the most incredible natural fibre, suitable for more garment suggestions and sewing inspiration than possibly any other?

Wool has a unique naturally crimped 3D structure which attributes to some brilliant properties & makes it a great fabric to wear throughout all the seasons.

Naturally Breathable: This amazing 3D crimped structure promotes air circulation allowing air to pass through the fabric, allowing for circulation and ventilation for your skin to breathe, keeping you cool.

Shower Resistant: Sheep naturally produce a waxy substance called lanolin. As sheep live outdoors, this naturally occurring wax helps to protect sheep from the elements, naturally shedding water & keeping them dry. This same property is retained within the wool fibres when spun into yarn.

Moisture Absorbing: The moisture-retentive superpowers of wool! It’s hydrophilic core gives wool the ability to wick away moisture keeping you dry and comfortable – this possibly one of our favourite properties because you can stay fresh when wearing wool, from autumn right through to spring!
