Introduction:

100% Swiss Cotton Organdie - White is crisp, translucent and perfect for creating lasting fullness and body, especially if used in architectural details for conceptual costumes and bridal gowns. Also ideal for stiffening collars and cuffs in place of iron-on interfacing or hair canvas fabrics for waistbands and structured areas on tailored garments.

Colour:

White Swiss Classic natural white is pure white organdie which is ideal for a host of purposes.

Properties:

White Swiss is by nature very crisp almost paper-like, translucent and fine like muslin. This woven fabric is created using highly twisted fine cotton yarns. Due to these characteristics, it will hold creases and pleats. When washed this will maintain its stiffness as it is treated with a special chemical finishing process (not starch which would wash out).

Garment Suggestions:

Create your very own bespoke and conceptual pieces with this architectural fabric. Fans of The Great British Sewing Bee in 2019 may remember Riccardo Guido's Origami Top that was awarded garment of the week.

Other Uses:

Craft uses such as lavender sachets, fabric flowers and foliage, create superb fancy dress- fairies wings or toy makers and fabric sculptors, this will make fabulous wings for insects and other winged creatures. Organdie is also ideal for machine embroidery.

Excellent Quality

Over the years, I've bought cotton organdy from many different sources and this is easily the best. Light, but with an even crisp handle even after washing in fabric conditioner. Yep, it arrived folded and the marks remained after unfolding, but then this is the sort of fabric which takes pleats very easily; a hot steam iron gets rid of the creases in a jiffy. Very pleased with it.

Excellent service though the organdie was very creased when it arrived.
