Beautifully soft lightweight 100% cotton. A superb designer, Italian woven, twill shirt-weight fabric with a lovely silky but hard-wearing feel (due to the slightly heavier gauge yarns used). Fabulous vertical pin stripes are woven throughout, alternating between a superb baby blue and classic white. This super fabric reminded us of the sweet sailor dresses and rompers Victorian children would have worn.
You can make smart shirts or super cute children's clothing from this versatile fabric and much more. Don't just think that cotton shirting is for shirts alone! Make up your favourite shirt or shirt dress pattern, or try shell tops, simple vest style tops and tunic tops & dresses. (McCalls M7542 is an excellent blouse/top pattern with multiple sleeve variations, bell, pleated flounced etc). Other great uses for this fab shirting are tea dress styles with gathered skirts and dropped waists, lightweight trousers, jumpsuits, playsuits, culottes and shorts.
