We have run out of stock for this item.

Woodcutter’s Plaid is a superb all wool twill plaid. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield range. This fabric a not one of Fabworks' own exclusive designs.

Woven from a subtle combination of beautiful earth and sky inspired yarns, spun in Huddersfield. This superb combination of yarns has produced a wonderful nature inspired palette. This plaid reminds us of a woodcutters log cabin nestled deep within dense woodland where the bark of the trees stand proud in shades of dusty grey browns through to rich and mellow toned browns. The woodcutter gazing up between the branches at the blue sky overhead.

The multi-hued browns and blue greys of the intersecting stripes within this first-rate woollen have a subtle marled effect that is created using multitonal yarns throughout the whole plaid. Overstripes of pale rust, rich mahogany and natural white accentuate this delightful fabric, creating points of interest and the opportunity to use these accents for coordinating with plain fabrics. Loose yourself in the wonderfully complimentary colours within this fab Yorkshire Tweed.

This closely woven woollen has a versatile medium weight and has the feel of a traditional, lightly felted and brushed, wool tweed. Boasting a stable handle that also drapes reassuringly, the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects. A skillfully crafted fabric that will ‘do as it’s told’, wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time.

Use this stunning plaid to form the basis of your own woodland inspired collection. Choose complimentary fabrics, we recommend matching with the Yorkshire Meltons, or Marled Meltons from the Heart of Huddersfield range to break up the plaid or showcase it as you choose. Fashion forecasts predict statement coats and outerwear will be hugely popular in A/W 2019. Wool interiors are always a classic too!
