Waterloo Blue - Grey Herringbone is an all wool herringbone fabric from the Rain On The River collection, one of our very special Heart of Huddersfield wools.
Spun from a blend of the finest wool fibres with a classic soft royal blue tone. A beautiful pale marled grey warp yarn forms the base, with a fresh multi tonal blue yarn on the weft. The combination of the two yarns creates a subtle palette that showcases the classic chevrons of the herringbone weave perfectly.
The Rain On The River collection is a reminder of the role of water in powering our industrial heritage here in West Yorkshire. Waterloo Blue - Grey Herringbone is named after a local village district where the Heart of Huddersfield range was made and has now been translated into a stunning wool tweed with water inspiration at its design roots. If you love its soft blue tones, you’ll love the other fabrics in the Rain On The River collection, the shades complement each other perfectly and will mix and match for a cool marine theme.
Waterloo Blue - Grey Herringbone is a closely woven woollen fabric. The Perfect Fit; having designed the whole collection, testing out colour and weave combinations we think that Waterloo Blue - Grey Herringbone teams up excellently with the other blue tones of Rain On The River. A special mention to the soft greys in the Valley Mist collection that will coordinate well and pick out the greys in this herringbone.
Did you know that there are two different coloured warps within the twelve Herringbone fabrics? There are six herringbones with a soft marled pale grey warp, which combine with the coloured weft yarns to make these six gorgeous soft pastels tones. The other warp is a rich deep marled teal which combines with the coloured weft yarns to make these striking rich warming tones. Waterloo Blue is one of the six soft pastel herringbones.
