Fabric enthusiasts and wool lovers especially will love this! The fabric is a wool and polyester heavyweight woven blend with rich rust and soft mousey brown tones throughout, in the most extraordinary texture. Woven with an Oxford weave background, rust coloured chevrons go in a weft wise direction with soft mousey brown chevrons going in a warp wise direction. It seems as if the chevrons have been embroidered on top of the base weave! The reverse of this fabric is equally interesting, especially in such a brilliant colour but with a more muted pattern than its face.
The yarn used for this fabric is chunky therefore the fabric can be prone to fraying. But, it's perfect if you use it to your advantage - hand-frayed edges on a coat, throw or poncho? A real on-trend fashion right now! Tumbling Matchsticks has other great uses, such as unstructured coatigans, big cosy sweaters or chunky style jackets where you need some extra weight and texture.
Cushions would look fab in such a bespoke and nonconforming fabric. Try bag making and add some leather trims for something different!
