Fabric enthusiasts and wool lovers especially will love this! This fabric is a wool and polyester heavyweight woven blend with beige with light and dark brown tones throughout, in the most extraordinary texture. Woven with an Oxford weave background, brown chevrons go in a weft wise direction with the softer beige chevrons going in a warp wise direction. It seems as if the chevrons have been embroidered over the top of the base weave! The reverse of this fabric is equally interesting, as it still maintains the muted colour palette with its own unusual pattern.
The yarn used for this fabric is chunky therefore the fabric can be prone to fraying. But, it's perfect if you can use this to your advantage - hand-frayed edges on a coat, throw or poncho? They're really on-trend right now! The Tumbling Matchsticks has other great uses, like unstructured coatigans, big cosy sweaters or chunky style jackets where you need that extra texture and weight!
Cushions would look fab in such a bespoke and nonconforming fabric. This would be a stand-out fabric for bag making, just add some leather trims for something spectacular.
