Darkest blue black Indian Ink, like the finest ink used to write precious manuscripts. Our slubby silk-look linen and cupro is a beautiful lustrous fabric with a crisp handle, very similar to a Dupion silk except a little softer and a little stronger.
Woven with wonderful linen and cupro fine yarns, this excellent fabric has a shot effect due to a black warp and darkest navy weft, producing subtle lighter slubs on the darker background. Linen is renowned for being an age old favourite, the mainstay of this fabric. Also featuring cupro, a fabulous regenerated cellulose fibre, recycled from cotton plants! Boasting excellent advantages, cupro is super soft, low irritant, moisture absorbent, cool in summer, warm in winter and just like rayon produces it a silky fibre which boasts a subtle lustrous sheen.
The versatile Indian Ink not only has a stable crisp handle, it also has a smooth drape quality, perfect for luxurious clean cut wardrobe staples or dramatic and sophisticated garments usually fashioned in Dupion silk. As a Dupion silk substitute, this is perfect for vegans and people concerned with sustainability.
This excellent fabric is the perfect alternative to plain black and will make exquisite gents and ladies clothing. Ideal for neat silhouettes like sharply tailored jackets, skirts and trousers, fitted sheath dresses. Make the most of the lustrous sheen by draping in fit and flare style dresses and gowns. Try drape and tuck Viv Westwood styles too.
Vintage patterns are great for this one - think classic glamour of the 1940s and 1950s.
