This wonderful, traditional, rustic country tweed was woven in West Yorkshire by a world renowned company. The combination of skill, heritage and use of first rate all wool melange yarns has produced a classic woollen fabric which will never date.
Rambling Heath - Subtle Windowpane Check Tweed is woven from alternating melange yarns of charcoal grey and natural golden straw hues. The addition of a windowpane check in subtle dark bilberry-purple yarn adds interest and warmth to this natural country palette. Evoking memories of walks in the Yorkshire countryside; rambling heaths with sun dried grasses and craggy outcrops filled with bilberries.
Rambling Heath boasts a stable handle and good drape quality. Wool tweeds of this type are easy to work with, when sewing seams they 'stay put' and can be manipulated with steam for traditional tailoring.
Dressmakers, Reenactors, Costumiers, Interior Designers, Craftspeople and all lovers of textiles will find a plethora of uses for this first-rate tweed, taking you through A/W and perfectly into spring.
Dressmakers; Rambling Heath is perfect for fashioning classic outerwear and hard-wearing separates. Start with simple and stylish pencil skirts, A-line skirts and waistcoats, choose a complementary quality lining and you’ll have garments that will soon become perennial favourites. Shift dresses and pinafore dresses are super comfy and make classic key pieces. When your sewing skills are more established, try classic jackets, coats and capes. Add multi toned horn-type buttons to your makes, picking out the tones of green and brown for an individual style.
Reenactors and Costumiers; The natural tones in this fabric are ideal for a range of historical garments from capes and tunics to trousers and over dresses. There's something very Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson in style to this fabric - perfect for Steampunk costumes!
Interior Designers; use this hard-wearing windowpane check to create a range of coordinating soft furnishings such as cushions, throws, blinds and curtains for a truly harmonious styling in the home.
