It is easy wear & easy care (that means quick drying & no ironing), extremely versatile, hard-wearing, strong, stretchy & comfortable. Samples & cut lengths available for all fabrics.

Ramie, known under various other terms, is a clever fibre, taken from a plant of the nettle family - but without the sting! Ramie is cool and breathable, resistant to shrinkage, insect damage and mildew, it is a super-strong fibre and holds its shape well! Often used as an alternative to Linen – the traditional linen look texture is super versatile, it’s our new favourite!

A range of fabrics suitable for curtains, blinds, cushions, lampshades & even dressmaking! Furnishing fabrics have a wide variety of uses around the home & garden! We have stocked some of our favourites here & many of them can be restocked!There are both standard single width (140cm wide) and double-width (280cm wide) meaning plenty of scope to play with! Make sure you check the fabric specifications in the descriptions carefully. Curtain fabrics are also ideal for dressmaking, try utility style garments like dungarees, aprons & jackets. As always samples are available or buy a half metre to see the full pattern – you can always make a cushion!

ALL WOOL & WOOL BLEND FABRICS
Fabworks stocks woollen fabrics in varying weights, textures & weaves, from floating fine wool challis to fine worsted suitings, all the way through to heavyweight coatings and plaids that are ideal for winter outerwear and soft furnishings round the home. Wool will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer, as it is naturally water repellent and also has some natural fire retardancy properties. Wool is an excellent choice for outerwear and perfect for jackets, coats, coatigans, capes and ponchos. There are plenty more uses for wool, such as hats, caps, bags and cushions. If you really don’t fancy getting out the sewing machine, it is so easy to make a lovely wool throw.
