Oatmeal Check - Linen This superb classic flat woven linen fabric comes to you in classic tones of Wholesome Oatmeal and natural white and is woven into a pleasing country/shabby chic style, part of a new collection (European Linens) and manufactured by the same renowned Dutch company as our summer Linens of 2021. This assortment of fabrics is of the same quality and with even more colours designs and natural fibre types. There's something to suit all tastes.

Properties:

Oatmeal Check boasts a wonderfully natural look and feel. This wholesome natural blend fabric boasts a reassuring soft drape quality and is stable and strong - super easy to sew. Linen has been used for centuries because of its beneficial properties; cool and breathable, get softer with washing & wear and linen is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains.

Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage. The characteristic slubs (once viewed as a fault) are now part of the aesthetic appeal of quality linen fabric. 

Garment Suggestions:

Classic neutrals form the mainstay of many wardrobes and this cool linen and cotton blend can be worn all through the seasons. Oatmeal Check will make stylish key pieces, especially when teamed with its complimentary cousins. Perfect for creating Folk Style clothing (add some personalised embroidery or smocking) and these will become heirlooms of the future.

Our very own Pattern Stash: Cordelia Trousers, Amelia Skirt, Lynsey Dungarees & Jemima Waistcoat are suitable to use with the medium weight linens which have slightly more structure. The use of interfacing and or interlining may be required on areas that require more structure such as waistbands, collars etc.
