Inca Trail Sweater Knit is another superb favourite Avoca wool, space dyed, knitted fabric. The fantastic horizontally knitted space dyed yarn forms a subtle geometric pattern consisting of colourful stripes and alternating rows of cheerful blocks of colour. Very Peruvian Inca style, reminiscent of Peruvian ponchos with their bright and rich colours. There are citrus tones, rich true reds mixed with pinky magenta, soft lilac with dark aubergine and rich mossy green, forming the perfect clatter of colour in this joyful knit!
This fabric has a soft feel and chunky medium weight handle which boasts slight stretch width wise and good lengthwise stretch. Go ahead and fashion yourself the perfect poncho or wrap - harness your inner Inca bohemian spirit!
The face and reverse of Inca Trail are fairly similar in texture, however the face has a brushed and very woolly finish (image #1 #2 #3 #4), whereas the reverse is slightly neater in appearance and shows stocking stitch knit detail clearly (image #6 #7). These attributes of almost a double sided fabric make it ideal for garments where the reverse side may be visible; such as waterfall front cardigans or jackets with large revers/collars.
Also super for a great range of garment choices, such as sweaters and jumpers, sweatshirts (try contrasting sleeves perhaps?), cardigan style jackets, jumper dresses, tube skirts and wraps, as well as hats, scarves and throws.
