Humbug Intarsia Stripes is a fabulously refreshing, black and white striped intarsia knitted, ponte jersey fabric. The super horizontal humbug stripes are finely knitted with a 1.5cm pattern repeat, making the perfect alternative to your usual Breton style knit and ideal for relaxed casual wear in the colder months.

This excellent ponte double jersey is made in a superfine gauge knit, from soft polyester and elastane to give a useful two-way stretch (slightly less stretch on the length) and a cosy mediumweight, snuggly fabric with a reassuringly warming drape quality.

With all these redeeming features imagine a capsule wardrobe of key pieces which you can mix & match with your other basic staples, black and white stripes always look fresh and sporty and are easily incorporated with most other colours and tones.

Use Humbug Intarsia Stripes to make comfortable and stylish clothing that falls away from the body rather than clinging. Create lounge pants and sweatshirts, tunic tops, Breton tops and artists smocks, long-belted cardigans, classic roll-neck tops, simple raglan sleeve tops, stylish shift dresses, simple skirts and so much more.

Good body to this fabric

This was a dream to cut out and sew. I made a funnel neck tunic which hangs very well. I am concerned that by the feel of the fabric pilling may be a problem quite quickly.
