Hopeful Blue - Straw Weave - Yorkshire Tweed is a gorgeous all wool tweed. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield Range.
A serious dark charcoal grey yarn (with a sprinkling of lighter fibres) forms the warp and the perfect backdrop to this stunning fabric. Dreamy rich blue yarns are woven in groups to achieve the straw weave, named because the grouping of yarns resembles flat pieces of straw (also similar to basketweave). Hopeful Blue boasts an all-over mid-blue tone with an air of self-assured confidence and hopefulness. Like its sibling Deep Tarn and similar to Tickled Pink there's a certain Chanel style too! The textured weave detail provides extra interest and is the ideal fabric for fashioning iconic Chanel style jackets. Reliable blues are favourite hues, easy on the eye, the overall mid-blue tone has superb versatility, keep things tonal by sitting alongside denim pieces for a smart /casual blue ensemble or team with serious navy for a smarter style. Add a pop of colour to your grey key pieces, for pure simplicity.
This closely woven woollen has a versatile medium weight and a traditional wool feel. Boasting a stable handle and reassuring - heavy drape, Hopeful Blue is perfect for a plethora of sewing room projects. An intricately woven fabric that will do as you tell it. Woollen fabrics of this kind are easy to sew and will stand the test of time.
