Hidden Gems Herringbone - Yorkshire Tweed

£1.00
per half metre
Fabric Code: A3a11

Hidden Gems Herringbone - Yorkshire Tweed is a gorgeous all wool tweed. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield range

Woven from a delightful blend of multi tonal yarns, look closely to reveal the rich natural gems. A beautiful multi tonal warp yarn with moss and lichen greens forms the base and a dusty grey brown yarn forms the weft, but blended into this yarn are a multitude of the most beautiful colours of nature. There are soft heathers, pinks purples, russets, turquoise blues and soft duck egg tones; creating a subtle contrast between the chevrons of the herringbone weave. The combination of the two yarns is subtle but stunning! It's like strolling through a midsummer meadow when all the long grasses have turned into a palette of complimentary hues.

Ideal for those who love blue and heather coloured palettes but need a neutral fabric with an allover grey-brown tone that goes with everything.

Hidden Gems is a closely woven woollen fabric. It has a versatile medium weight and a traditional rustic wool feel that boasts a stable handle that drapes reassuringly with the promise of cosy warmth. It’s the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects and it will always do as it’s told. Wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time well.

Dressmakers, Reenactors, Costumiers, Interior Designers, Craftspeople and all lovers of textiles will find a plethora of uses for this first-rate herringbone, taking you through A/W and perfectly into spring.

Dressmakers; Hidden Gems is perfect for fashioning classic outerwear and hard-wearing separates. Start with simple and stylish pencil skirts, A-line skirts and waistcoats, choose a complementary quality lining and you’ll have garments that will soon become perennial favourites. Add multi toned, horn type buttons to your makes - picking out the jewel tones for an individual style.

Interior Designers; use this hard-wearing wool herringbone to create a range of coordinating soft furnishings such as cushions, throws, blinds and curtains for a truly harmonious styling in the home.
