French Navy - Soft Linen & Cotton is just as its name suggests a wonderfully soft, cool, breathable, lightweight, linen and cotton blend fabric, woven from beautiful rich French navy blue 54% Linen & 46% Cotton yarns boasting all the qualities of both natural fibres with the classic finely slubbed look of linen.
Made in Europe by a company of world renown, with centuries of expertise and tradition. This blended fabric gives you the benefits of both wonderful natural fibres. Cotton blended with linen produces a softer, finer fabric that is easier to iron. Linen and cotton have been used for centuries because of their beneficial properties; cool and breathable, get softer with washing & wear and linen is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains. Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage. The characteristic slubs (once viewed as a fault) are now part of the aesthetic appeal of quality linen fabric.
French Navy - Soft Linen & Cotton is stable, cool, crisp and absorbent. This excellent fabric will form crisp details, on collars and cuffs. Used in quantity it will form feminine gathers, pleats, pintucks and ruffles. This classic white linen/cotton will only improve with washing and wear. So all you have to do is decide what to make. French Navy is oh so comfortable you will want to make a wardrobe full of key pieces for a superb, summer layered-chic linen look. Its lightweight and soft hand make it the ideal candidate for many uses from the stylish to the practical.
Navy forms part of many wardrobes, an ideal alternative to black which can be harsh against some skin tones. A classic for shirts, tops and dresses. ' 90s style pantsuits with longline sleeveless shirts and wide-legged trousers are also a fabulously chic "Riviera" style perfect for those hot summer days. Wear with simple vest/camisole tops in pops of fresh white or red for that classic French look.
Put French Navy to use for simple boat-necked tops and pretty blouses, it's also perfect for creating layering garments such as vest tops, simple tunics, and kaftans.
Add to your fabric stash as a basic staple and you will find uses around your home too; table covers, napkins, laundry bags, embroidery and so much more!
