Rain Soaked Bracken Check - Yorkshire Tweed is a gorgeous all wool tweed. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield range. This fabric is not one of Fabworks' own exclusive designs.
Woven from superb blended yarns in rich earthy tones of nature. This traditional country wear tweed is the colour of rain soaked, dried bracken, its feathery fronds glistening in the rain. The characteristic multi tonal yarns of this range are showcased in the chevrons of the herringbone design and feature rich peaty brown and a complimentary marled grey. These are the organic country colours of nature and sit perfectly alongside the overcheck which has fine bands of blue, like hopeful glimpses of finer weather, further complimented by a rust-toned red, the colour of Rowan berries.
Rain Soaked Bracken Check is a closely woven woollen fabric. It has a versatile medium weight and a traditional rustic wool feel yet has a smoothness which will naturally repel water and won't snag on thorns and brambles. The stable handle also drapes reassuringly with the promise of cosy warmth. It’s the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects and will always do as it’s told. Wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time.
