Need a statement coat for the winter season? This superb mohair fabric could be the one for you..
Woven in a heavy duty twill weave (which is visible on the reverse), this amazing fabric has a complex mixture of colour tones. The background colour consists of grey and taupe tones and woven through on the twill diagonal with shades of black. The overall appearance on the surface of Blue Ridge Mountains is of a smokey grey with hints of taupe shot through along with beautiful striations of rich copper sulphate blue. The long pile of the mohair is very multitonal, particularly in the blue/grey striations. The pile is sprinkled throughout with silvery hairs, producing a very luxurious long pile mohair coating. Blue Ridge Mountains has a stable width wise and lengthwise heavy handle, but the fabric does have a relatively soft drape.
This excellent fabric will make superb winter outerwear garments - why not go for a retro bomber jacket (with knitted sleeves in Ponte)? or even use leather for the sleeves? The fabric has a very early '80s vibe (punks jumpers), also ideal for oversized coats that'll look amazing in with the rich blues, silvers and charcoal tones. Alternatively make cosy capes, shorter boxy jackets, hats, bags, bed throws, cushions and much more!
