A Rose By Any Other Name is a finely textured, crepe finish, scuba, double jersey fabric. This wonderful fabric boasts the silky soft finish of a finely knitted scuba on the reverse and is printed onto the crepe finished face side with a retro style floral design of roses and forget-me-not flowers.
Dark navy sets the scene in the background of this excellent design and showcases the rich red and royal blue roses. Highlights of white, and foliage in sage green complete the pretty floral design. The retro design has style vibes from both the '50s and the '60s giving you the opportunity to seek inspiration from both eras should you choose. This fab fabric boasts excellent width wise stretch and a firm but less pronounced stretch to the length. The silky fine gauge double knit provides a soft drape quality with reassuring medium weight.
Ideal styles to make are: fit & flare dresses, Celia Birtwell style '60s inspired dresses with elegantly draped skirts and full bell sleeves. You can of course create simple T-shirt style tops, tunics and simple slip dresses. Utilise the stretch and create figure hugging styles and swimwear too!
