Fabworks Mill Shop & Online FAQs (in accordance with COVID-19 regulations):


Fabworks Mill Shop is now back OPEN!

As of Wednesday 15th July Fabworks re-opens its mill shop doors for the first time since March. There are plenty of new rules & regulations as well as plenty of new fabrics (of course!) and a newly designed shop floor.


What is Fabworks Mill Shop opening times?

Fabworks Mill Shop is open on 10:00 - 16:00 on weekdays, 10:00-14:00 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays. The slight change in opening hours allows us one hour each morning to clean & sanitise the shop floor ready for your arrival

What do I need to bring with me when I visit?

Please bring a mask, this is compulsory for entry to the mill shop. We do have disposable masks if you do not have your own. We will also ask you for some personal information before allowing you into the mill shop as we are operating a track & trace system, in the event that there is an outbreak

Do I need to book an appointment to visit Fabworks Mill Shop?


Is there access to the mill shop toilets for visiting customers?

Yes, upon request

What is the maximum number of people allowed in the shop at any one time?

A maximum of 12 people are allowed in the shop at any one time (excluding staff members). If there are already 12 people in the shop when you arrive we kindly ask you to form a queue, we will then invite you into the shop on a first come first served basis

Can I bring my children into the shop with me?

Yes, under strict supervision

Are there are measures in place for extremely vulnerable customers?

At this time we do not have any special measures in place for vulnerable customers. If you are exempt from wearing a mask you will only be permitted to access the Mill Shop with a doctor's letter

Do I need to bring ID with me when I visit?

No, identification is not necessary

What methods of payment can I use to pay for fabrics?

Both cash & card are accepted

Can I bring swatches into the shop with me?


Is there access to whole shop if I am in a wheelchair?

Yes, all corners of Fabworks Mill Shop are accessible for wheelchairs & prams, with the exception of toilets that are up a short flight of stairs

Am I allowed to touch the fabric on the shelves?


How do I let someone know that I want to buy a fabric (if I can’t reach it)?

Please ask a member of staff to assist you, they will be happy to help

Can I queue up early before 10:00am opening?

Yes, the yard will be open from 9:00am onwards on weekdays and Saturdays

What if I had fabric on the reserve shelf before lockdown?

All fabrics are now back on their normal shelves in the mill shop

Can I still reserve fabrics now?

Yes, fabrics can be reserved for up to 7 days

Can I buy equipment for making face masks?

Yes, we have 6mm elastic (designed specifically for face masks) and lightweight woven 100% cotton fabrics that are more than suitable. We do not supply mask filters


    General Fabworks FAQs:

    Is Fabworks Online open? Fabworks Online is OPEN. We hope to send all online orders out within 24 hours of receipt.

    Can I place an online order and collect from Fabworks? Yes. We are still operating our online click & collect service. Customers who live locally to Fabworks are permitted to place unlimited Fabworks Online orders and collect from us on the premises. By choosing the option to click & collect you are obliged to follow necessary practices when collecting your order; please await further instruction before collecting, do not expect your order to be ready instantly. We will contact you once we have prepared everything.

    Sample Service RE-ACTIVATED: During March-August we took the decision to temporarily close the sample service at Fabworks Online in order to concentrate on providing all cut length fabric orders as promptly as we can, as well as having seen a high percentage of sample orders not arriving with customers due to Coronavirus-related issues with deliveries. This sample service has now been resumed and anyone can place an order for samples at Fabworks Online.

    How to contact us: Please contact the office on weekdays between 09:00-16:00 GMT. This is when we will be able to answer phone calls, reply to emails and help you with anything else that you need.

    Can I add a note to my order with delivery instructions? Yes, however you will only have the option to do this once you have received a dispatch confirmation email/text message the day before your order arrives. Do not add shipping requests in the Notes section of your order at Fabworks Online as we cannot process these. Please see this page for further shipping information:
