Mallards Meander - Hazy Herringbone Yorkshire Tweed is a gorgeous all wool tweed. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield range. This fabric is not one of Fabworks' own exclusive designs.
Woven from a delightful blend of multi-tonal yarns in a fabulous obscured herringbone weave, this fabric is full of rich natural tones. Beautiful melange weft yarns of bulrush brown - riverside reeds and fallen leaves - rust form the base. A stunning dark teal green yarn (the colour of mallard ducks iridescent plumage) forms the warp (sitting alongside rich black), creating a subtle contrast between the chevrons of the herringbone weave. The combination of the two yarns evokes mallards meander down a cool and shadowy reed-filled stream.
An excellent jewel-toned Yorkshire Tweed which is just stunning. Mallard Meander is a closely woven woollen fabric. It has a versatile medium weight and traditional rustic wool feel that boasts a stable handle that drapes reassuringly with the promise of cosy warmth. It’s the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects - it will always do as it’s told. Wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time.
