Peat & Limestone Herringbone - Eco Wool

£2.00
per half metre
Fabric Code: A2d32
Introducing a very small and limited stock range of eco wool fabrics! Blissful natural/neutral tones with traditional heritage style. So why is this fabric eco friendly? As well as being spun, woven and finished in Huddersfield (Yorkshire) a neighboring town to Dewsbury (home of Fabworks) and therefore holding a low carbon footprint, in fact this fabric has been made from the fleeces of British sheep, followed by minimalist treatments thereafter; no dyes and minimal chemicals, thus producing these wonderful natural/neutral colour palettes. These are one of the most sustainable and eco friendly woollen fabrics on the market.

Peat & Limestone Herringbone - Eco Wool is a superb traditional herringbone weave, woven from a lovely natural blended yarn with rich peat-brown tones, sitting alongside a dried leaf colour. All the shades of earthy northern landscapes are present in this fabric; the combination of the peat and natural coloured yarns accentuates the traditional herringbone design. This heritage design (named because the rows of chevrons look like herrings' bones) and traditional natural yarn combination has a rich earthy look and sturdy feel. Evoking memories of country walks over rain soaked moorlands, rich with peat.

Peat & Limestone- Herringbone has a sturdy & stable handle with a traditional country woollen feel. Wool fabrics will naturally regulate to the temperature of the wearer and protect from the outside elements. Naturally water repellent too, this fabric will also keep you dry as well as warm.

Calling all historical costumiers and reenactors! This first rate fabric will make excellent period clothing such as super smart suits for country gents as well as field coats and jackets, waistcoats, hats, caps and so much more.

Boasting a medium/heavy drape quality that is perfect for creating longer length garments such as overcoats and capes. Classic windowpane checked country wools never date... For more modern styles choose semi-fitted jackets with matching waistcoats, or stylish pea coats and 3/4 coats; perfect for smartening up jeans and shirt ensembles.

This understated yet quietly confident country check will also make fabulously elegant ladies capes and trench style coats with cape details. If you love all things country, then why not extend the eco wools into your accessories, perfect for neck warmers (add some snug fleece or flannel for the backing), make super smart bags, hats and caps to complete the look.

This hard-wearing, eco friendly, all wool fabric will also make stylish soft furnishings; cushions, blinds, throws and curtains too!
