Potting Shed Green - Marled Melton is an all wool melton fabric from the Weaver’s Garden collection, one of our very special exclusive Heart of Huddersfield wools.
This 100% wool is created by weaving a natural and grey marled yarn on both the warp and weft. The fabric is then fulled (one of the processes used in creating melton) to give that felt-like finish. Each marled melton is then piece-dyed to its own unique colour, which emphasises the darker underlying grey fibres to create a multi tonal marled effect, hence the name: Marled Melton.
The greeny tones of Potting Shed Green are inspired by the plants and outbuildings found within the traditional cottage gardens where Hydrangeas, Pansies and Bluebells sit alongside the fruits and vegetables in a hotch potch mix of painted garden sheds and extended greenhouses.
This closely woven, felted and brushed 100% wool has a versatile medium / heavy weight and a traditional wool feel that is lightly brushed with a cosy finish. Boasting a stable handle that drapes reassuringly, Potting Shed Green - Marled Melton is the perfect for keeping the elements out! A 100% wool fabric that will do as you tell it. Woollen fabrics of this kind are easy to sew and will stand the test of time.

I was so impressed with the "Dark Habour" wool cloth and decided to check out the green shades of this same range. It is indeed very special wool cloth with great weight and feel. It's very stable and densely woven you could hardly see the weave. The colour is a lovely vivid green, not much amount of yellow tone in it, which is what I like. It is quite daunting choosing colours over the screen sometimes I'm glad I ordered the samples. I'm now having a hard time deciding between this vivid green and the "Foggy Pastures" muted green...I know why Fabworks becomes one of my favourite places to shop for wools, I'm spoiled with many good options!!
