Introduction:

This gloriously indulgent Blackcurrant & Rose Fondant (Amethyst & Rose) - Jewel Jacquard, lightweight viscose/acetate twill lining fabric was originally created for a renowned British, ladies and menswear designer, famous for fine occasion wear with a quirky and elegant style, inspired by history and the natural world.

Colour:

Blackcurrant & Rose Fondant One of a collection, available in a range of stripes rich, jewel-hued multi-tones and iconic designs. Like their SOS fabric cousins, they have excellent versatility, these impeccably woven (not printed) finest quality lightweight, cool and breathable fabrics are just too handsome to be hidden away as linings!

Properties:

Blackcurrant & Rose Fondant is a finely woven, lightweight viscose/acetate and boasts a finely striped repeating design of vertical stripes. The complementary palette of dusky pink, plummy purple and raspberry are akin to the colours of indulgent dark chocolates with rich fondant cream centres. This quality woven fabric has a wonderful classic style (this has a very regency style) that will appeal to those who appreciate the finer things in life.

Garment Suggestions:

Blackcurrant & Rose Fondant Striped designs have perennial appeal, making it easy to coordinate plain key pieces with your favourite accent colour. This stunning silken fabric will complement rich and opulent autumn winter woollen pieces, from finely tailored pieces to accessories and Jemima Waistcoat - The Pattern Stash. Add a pop of opulence to your usual black key pieces.

Boasting a super soft, cool silky feel and subtle sheen you would be forgiven for thinking this was silk. This first-rate fabric has a lightweight yet sumptuous hand that is stable width and lengthwise, with a delicious drape. All you have to decide now is what to make...

Blackcurrant and Rose Fondant will of course make a statement lining for your bespoke woollen coats, jackets, waistcoats, blazers and shift dresses. You won’t be able to resist showing people your wonderful lining! Add statement silken backs to your waistcoats and show off this beauty! Why hide it away?

You can also create stunning occasion wear pieces; dresses with drape & gathered details, bow-tie blouses & dresses, simple dolman sleeved tops and quick-make slashed-neck scarf style tops will all add a hint of luxury to simple jeans and top outfits. Take this elegant wonder and create dramatic '70s inspired puffed full-sleeve shirts with deep cuffs and matching cover buttons. Extend this style into gathered tiered-skirted dresses, (Friday Pattern Co's the Wildergown and Stitchless Tv's Pontoon Tier Dress are ideal patterns) wear with a simple underslip for an added layer and this will become one of your A/W favourites.
